The History of the Turtle & the Chicken...

Meet the Turtle...
Say hi to the Chicken...
The Chicken...
My passion for motorbikes started very early in life, but I forbid myself from getting one until I was 30, thinking I'd have calmed down by then, (mmm not so sure, ;-)). Anyway, since then I've owned lots of bikes, from sports bikes to dirt bikes, it's a passion that keeps evolving and it has helped me to continue to explore the world as well as this country plus I've met so many great folk because of my bikes! Ace stuff...

So a little history... the Chicken started out as a gift from my nephews, G and D, they promptly abused it cos it does kinda warrant that... its a really weird rubber thing that stretches and lays a rubber egg when you squeeze it... the boys thought this was fab and promptly bit the egg and sprayed the gooey stuff from inside all over my van!!

Damaged egg and all I took the Chicken with me where ever I worked, starting in Corsica... in fact we climbed a lovely peak called the Tafanatu, well worth a visit!!

Now the very observant will notice the chicken in Corsica is not the same as the chicken above... err must own up here, I left that one on that peak, completely forgot about it after we took the picture!! oops... devastated when I realised, so went out and bought another one... not quite as gooey as the original but it's close enough...

Anyhow... the 'new' chicken has now done a few miles and is looking a bit haggard and grubby around the edges but still has plenty of travel left in it!!

So far the chicken has been to Nepal, Antarctica, the US, France, Spain, Italy to name a few places, it's also seen a few miles in various countries in South America and Africa but my memory is going and I forget where now...

More to come I'm sure... fab stuff...

The Turtle...
Lucy is a true Cumbrian lass, born near Cockermouth, her family have lived up north for generations, they own farms and businesses around the county. None if which she has any involvement with except for the family get togethers once in a blue moon... She is the brains, with two degrees, one in Law and the other in Environmental Science, she's madly passionate about all things nature.

The Turtle came out of a conversation where Lucy stated she didn't like the Chicken... poor little rubber chicken... and as she has a passion for turtles, (earrings, stuffed toys, books etc all over the house!) she decided to find a little plastic Turtle for her bike... and hey presto, the name of the blog!

Funny how life goes sometimes, Lucy has decided she wants to stay in the UK for the time being, so the Turtle is now on an electric bike and the chicken is planning some big trips!!
